We were asking you if you like this site and Dinyi and there were 37 votes. 28 people voted that they like it (Yes) – jmnk voted 3 times, damn nub. 2 people voted Yes, just the site (Saxon ftw ). 5 people voted Yes, just Dinyi (Dinyi and 4 guests lol ). No, I don’t like Dinyi voted 2 people (TuV and a guest) So in general, people like our site and Dinyi which is kind of a Christmas miracle, if you ask me. Must be the timing when the poll was set up.

We can debate if modified CFGs, HUDs, sprint scripts and other stuff that you can access and change thru Options menu, is actually cheating, but aimbotting is cheating with no doubt. There are few different types of aimbots and there are also quite a few versions of aimbots for Tremulous – some worse, some better.  The main purpose of aimbot is to help you aim perfectly. However to prevent being spoted, most of bots allow you to switch them on or off. So when you need to “make that kill”, you switch it on, and then you switch it off so you don’t get spotted.

Things you should observe when you’re suspecting someone of aimbotting:

• Flicking of crosshair can be sign of a bot. Some of the bots are hard to notice because modern mice with high resolutions allow fast and accurate movement, however if it feels unnatural and it’s not smooth like with normal mouse (example: very tiny but deadly accurate move that you can hardly do with your hand), then it’s probably bot.
• Footwork of a player. If player has lots of kills and poor footwork (=can’t dodge very well) and doesn’t know his way around, he’s probably botting – experienced players know how to dodge, when to attack and when to run back, know the map and all the good “kill spots”, etc.
• Do you know a him? Is he a regular and well-known player or someone you just see for the first time? If he’s new and he’s owning hard, you might want to give it a look. Although there are debates about awesome skills and some Tremulous players that are well-known, we’ll leave this topic aside for now.
• Attacking stuff that’s allready dead. Bots can have delay and can point to enemy that’s allready dead.
• Changing targets or NOT. Does a player lock on target even if there is an easier kill or does he swtich from target to target very fast and deadly accurate (like he can’t decide which one to shoot)? If he gets “confused”, it might be a bot.
• Weapon choice. Most botters (and experienced players too, that’s the catch) will use weapons that don’t have delay (for example – Lucifer Cannon), that is rifle, lasgun, mass driver, chaingun, pulse rifle (optional). You also don’t need a bot for flamer
• He knows. Does it seem like he knows where the enemy is hidden? Does he make like 180 degree turn almost instantly and he hits a target? Weird stuff for sure Then he might be using bot and/or wallhack.
• Always make a demo. Make a demo so if someone thinks you are wrong, others can judge on it.
